Commander of the French Armed Forces in New Caledonia official Fiji visit.

The Commander of the French Armed Forces in New Caledonia, Major General Philippe LEONARD arrived in Suva, Fiji for his first three day official visit on September 14 - 16.

Maj Gen was accompanied by his personal assistant, Maj Paul NOBILI and the Embassy of France Defense Attaché, Commander Hubert Jannot, a day before the arrival of the French navy frigate, Vendémiaire.

The Fijian military’s Deputy Commander, Brigadier General Mohammed AZIZ received Maj Gen at the Republic of Fiji Military Forces’s Strategic Headquarters at Berkley Crescent in Suva with a quarter guard of honour.

Maj Gen Leonard and Brig Gen Aziz discussed military bilateral issues and Brig Gen Aziz thanked his French counterpart for the prompt assistance in the post-Cyclone Winston humanitarian support and assistance with the deployment of the CASA military aircarfts, the navy patrol boat La Moqueuse and ground troops.
